Farmers Market Kalidromiou Exarxeia:

Early on Saturday morning, hilly Kallidromiou Street is transformed into one of the best Athenian farmers’ markets (laiki), with heaps of seasonal fruits and vegetables from Greek producers laid out underneath bright orange tarps. The crowd is an odd mix of young and old Athenians, artists, migrants, and fashion models. Everyone finds time for a chat and politics is always on the agenda, but exchanges are frequently interrupted by vendors, shouting to drive attention back to the stalls. Market visitors will almost always look for a table in one of the cafes that line Kallidromiou Street, like Paraskinio, which serves good coffee and mini croissants on marble top tables.

Sculptor's Hall:

In the Sculptor’s Hall discover your own talent in sculpture; touch a selection of sculpting tools and learn how they are used;
watch a series of videos on ancient sculpting techniques (ceramics, marble carving, carving on precious stones, lost-wax casting); model and carve an art object under the guidance of an expert sculptor;
take your own sculpture home as a souvenir.

Varvakios Agora - Meat Market:

The Athens Central Market, or Varvakios Agora, is a fairground of flavours and aromas, where you can find anything from oxtail to mackerel, quail and royal jelly. It occupies a large block between Athinas, Sofokleous, Euripidou and Aiolou Streets. Plans for construction began in 1876. Back then, the market was mostly open-air and vendors sold their goods from shacks around the Roman Agora nearby. The cost of construction was covered by a donation from benefactor (and caviar importer) Ioannis Varvakis, who gave the market its Greek name: Varvakios Agora.
